Dear Uncle Murphy

Hi All!

This is my buddy Suzie. She stands guard in a corner yard at the "almost done" point of my morning walk.
sfg
Suzie is a beautiful dog (she didn't like posing for the camera!) and I have never heard her bark at people (at squirrels and bunnies, yes. People. No.). Every time I pass by Suzie's yard she comes up to the fence and wants to be petted.
sfj
She is a nice dog.
sfj
Of course, Suzie has absolutely nothing to do with my post today. I just wanted you to meet her!
sfj
My post is about a very beloved "relative" of mine - Uncle Murphy.
sdgh
Uncle Murphy is actually pretty well known. Some might even say that he is famous in his own way. He even has a law named after him. Let me quote the law: "Anything that can go wrong, will go wrong."
adh
Have you ever heard of it?
adh
Well, Uncle Murphy has his own, personal version of the law (Anything that can go wrong, will go wrong and will happen to me.) and this "law" have been passed down through the generations. One "lucky" member of each generation gets to live Uncle Murphy's personal law. Now, just take a wild guess about who, in my generation, is the "lucky one!"
sdgjhsj
Did you guess it was me??
sfj
Well, yes, I blush to admit but I am the "lucky one" who gets to carry on Uncle Murphy's personal law.
sdgh
If something can go wrong it will go wrong for me. Garbage disposal needs to burn up? Wait until Hubby is finished with it and then zonk out when Trisha uses it!
sdgh
Window needs to break? Open perfectly for Hubby but when Trisha tries . . . break!
sdghj
Getting gas in your scooter while on vacation in Bermuda? Wait until it is Trisha's turn and then fill up her Coach purse instead of the gas tank!
sdgh
Doesn't this sound like fun?
sdgh
Over the years I have grown rather accustomed to this law dogging my every move. In fact, I sort of expect things to happen now and if they don't, life becomes boring!
sdgh
Hubby, however, hasn't quite gotten used to things. Oh, he says that he knows things will only happen to me. He knows it isn't my fault these things happen - it is just good, old Uncle Murphy's legacy. But . . . . Hubby hasn't quite gotten to the point where he is as resigned to this as I am.
sdfgh
When the darn window breaks while I open it (of course!) he gets angry at me - like I did it on purpose.
sdgh
When the garbage disposal stops working the first time I try to use it on a particular day, Hubby sighs in disappointment (with me!!).
sdgh
When my purse is mistaken for a gas tank, Hubby . . . laughs and laughs and laughs (thanks a lot, Honey!).
sdghsdgh
Personally, I take Hubby's reactions rather . . . well . . . personally! After all, it isn't MY fault that the window and the disposal (and sometimes the computer) broke down as I was using them. It just follows Uncle Murphy's law! By now, Hubby should understand that and just become resigned to it - like I am. After all, once the law is enacted you can't un-do it! The only thing you can do is "fondly" remember Uncle Murphy and fix the problem.
sdghsdgh
Sometimes being "lucky" carries a lot of responsibilities with it.

Voice Update: Yesterday I didn't have any observations but I woke up with a bad, bad stomach. I ended up sleeping in and it felt much better - until around noon time when it acted up again! Luckily, it is all better today! However, the problem yesterday didn't leave me with a whole lot of time to do exercises! Bad, Trisha! I know! I did do my massage but the reading and exercises were neglected. I am back on the track today! I promise!

I have certainly heard of 'Murphy's Law'! I am sure we all feel like we have it too. *smiles*
